Applying these 8 rules will increase your focus and will guarantee you a fresh start every time. Check them out >>
]]>Besides the very common neck and pain, it causes headaches and bad circulation. Staring at a screen for long it is also known to cause dry, watery eyes and eye irritation. Finally, computer work can be stressful, isolating, and lead to depression and anxiety.
Despite the numerous side effects, there are a few ways to increase your productivity when working on computer. Applying at least some of these rules will increase your focus and will guarantee you a fresh start every time.
1. Apply the 20-20-20 rule
The 20-20-20 rule was created by a Californian optometrist - Jeffrey Anshel as an easy reminder to take breaks and prevent eye strain. The rule says that for every 20 minutes spent looking at a screen, a person should look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Following the rule is a great way to remember to take frequent breaks. This should reduce eye strain caused by looking at digital screens for too long.
2. Eye massage
To relieve eye strain, use clean fingers to gently massage the eyelids, the muscle above the eyebrows, the under-eyes and temples. This helps increase blood circulation to the eyes and relaxes the muscles around your eyes. It also stimulates the tear glands, preventing dry eyes.
3. Simply close your eyes
This is a very simple and yet very effective solution. When your eyes feel too tired...simply keep them closed for a few minutes. Your eyes will relax and you feel much better. Try to do this as often as possible, as this is a short term solution.
4. Regular stretching
Here are a few useful desk exercises that you can try next time when you are in pain, as a result of a long time sitting at your desk. These simple exercises will help to get your body relaxed and more importantly, they will help you sustain a proper posture.
5. Use a bigger screen
In a study conducted by the University of Utah findings revealed that people with bigger monitors were able to complete tasks 52% faster than those with smaller monitors (MonitorNerds). So you might consider upgrading your monitor, in order to increase your productivity.
6. Keep your room well ventilated
Improved air quality and ventilation increase productivity by up to 11%, so if your office is feeling a little stuffy, it might be time for an air conditioning upgrade.
7. Protect your most productive hours
For most people, the most productive part of the day is in the morning, not immediately after you wake up, but usually before lunchtime. Use those hours for the work that matters most. Don't schedule meetings then. Don't check email. Don't catch up on social media. If you're a night owl, protect your late hours just the same way. (pcmag.com)
8. Wear screen glasses
According to The Vision Council, eye discomfort can be caused by looking at a screen for more than two hours at a time, due to exposure to blue light waves. More than that, too much exposure to blue light at night suppresses the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep cycles.
One of the best ways you can increase your productivity while working on a computer is by wearing screen glasses. Not only that blue light blocking glasses will prevent headaches, blurred vision, and eye strain, it will also help regulate your sleep and you will wake up more rested.

]]>Here is your complete guide to gaming glasses.
]]>DO YOU REALLY NEED GAMING GLASSES - AND IF SO, HOW DO THEY HELP?
As a gamer, you probably came across multiple companies online selling gaming glasses; and no doubt that one question popped up to your mind: "do gaming glasses work and do I really need them?". And if they do work, what do gaming glasses exactly do?
For starters, the right pair of gaming glasses do work. And yes- gaming glasses do help improve the level of play, improve vision and clarity, and help reduce stress and strain on eyes, especially when playing your favorite games for hours on end, or you're engaged in an online competition and simply cannot put down your controller.
WHAT ARE THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF GAMING?
You’re probably about to throw your PS4 into the garbage after reading this section, but don’t freak out just yet.
- constant strain can lead to headaches, itchy and/or tired eyes, and even blurry vision
- Retinal damage, cataracts and macular degeneration have all been linked to blue light
from screen exposure.
- High-energy blue light exposure can literally exhaust the eyes.
- Blue light exposure when the sun goes down can disrupt sleep patterns and your circadian rhythm. This could lead to depression, a buildup of neurotoxin and an overall increased risk of disease.
- Melatonin production and overall sleep patterns can be disrupted with prolonged
overexposure to blue light from screens.
- Exposure to blue light has been found to actually induce photochemical damage to the retina and macula.
WHAT ARE GAMING GLASSES?
Gaming glasses are glasses which are intended for those who play games online and offline. They are used to prevent all the harmful effects of gaming. Gaming glasses are used for various reasons; among these are:
- To help reduce blue light glare and strain. When you are staring at a TV, computer, tablet, or other device for too long, this emits blue light. This causes strain and can impair vision. Gaming glasses help reduce this.
- They help improve clarity, reduce glare, and provide a lighter hue (yellow tint) which will help you see colors vividly and clearly.
- Gaming glasses will help you keep up with fast paced games, help reduce blur or glare, and help provide enhanced definition for all games you love playing.
Just as sunglasses are intended to help reduce harmful UV rays and reduce the damage rays do to your eyes, gaming glasses are intended to help reduce the blue light, and vision impairment you would suffer from, if you would stare at a computer or TV screen for several hours a day, without having such protections.
In conclusion, if you are suffering from the above mentioned symptoms, and that is affecting your gaming experience, then you should definitely give gaming glasses a try.
NOT SURE WHAT GLASSES TO TRY AT A REASONABLE PRICE?
BlinkerGreen Blue Light Blocking glasses should be on your priority list. They are designed to eliminate all the symptoms of digital eye strain and improve your gaming experience. The BlinkerGreen glasses come in two versions: amber and clear lens. If blue light doesn't bother you all that much, or you aren't gaming more than a few hours a day, the clear lens is a great choice. This tint offers a subtle layer of protection that offsets mild digital eye-strain. You should consider the higher BLPF yellow (amber) version if you are more sensitive to blue light and spend many hours playing in front of a screen.

Blue light is a range of the visible light spectrum, defined as having a wavelength between 400−495 nm. This short wavelength means that blue light is a type of high energy visible light, defined as having a wavelength between 400 and 450 nm.
Blue light sources are becoming increasingly common in today's environment. Exposure to blue light comes from a variety of technologies including computers, televisions, and lights. Much of the exposure arises from light emitting diodes (LEDs).
Increasingly, people are exposed to blue light via everyday technology.
HOW DOES BLUE LIGHT AFFECT YOUR EYES?
Digital eyestrain: Blue light from computer screens and digital devices can decrease contrast leading to digital eyestrain. Fatigue, dry eyes, bad lighting, or how you sit in front of the computer can cause eyestrain. Symptoms of eyestrain include sore or irritated eyes and difficulty focusing.
Retina damage: Studies suggest that continued exposure to blue light over time could lead to damaged retinal cells. This can cause vision problems like age-related macular degeneration.
EFFECTS OF BLUE LIGHT AND SLEEP
While light of any kind can suppress the secretion of melatonin, blue light at night does so more powerfully. Harvard researchers and their colleagues conducted an experiment comparing the effects of 6.5 hours of exposure to blue light to exposure to green light of comparable brightness. The blue light suppressed melatonin for about twice as long as the green light and shifted circadian rhythms by twice as much (3 hours vs. 1.5 hours).
In another study of blue light, researchers at the University of Toronto compared the melatonin levels of people exposed to bright indoor light who were wearing blue-light–blocking goggles to people exposed to regular dim light without wearing goggles. The fact that the levels of the hormone were about the same in the two groups strengthens the hypothesis that blue light is a potent suppressor of melatonin. It also suggests that shift workers and night owls could perhaps protect themselves if they wore eyewear that blocks blue light
